Maybe next time he’ll bring in a toaster in the shape of a nuke.

Did you even see the clock? Anyone with even basic knowledge of this stuff would know at first glance, it’s not a bomb.
Have I seen the clock in person? No. Have I seen a picture that people say is the bomb? Yes, and I can totally understand the confusion.
I understand that he probably didn’t think anything of it, because it is just a clock, and I think it’s pretty cool that he made a clock, but I can totally understand that the teacher took one look and thought it was a bomb. You’re right, anyone with basic knowledge of bombs would know that it wasn’t a bomb, but I will put money on that the teacher was not EOD or anything like that. expecting a laymen to look at it and not see a bomb is crazy, especially those raised on TV and movies who would see a bomb in anything with wires and a digital face on it.
You can “understand the confusion” because you don’t understand how basic circuits work.
They teach circuits in high school. The teacher should have been able to count the handful of components present and identify them as basic circuit parts. There’s no fucking mystery, a capacitor or transistor isn’t a bomb depending on how you wire it. HURR DURR IT LOOKS SCARY is unacceptable coming from something that is supposed to teach these skills. Ahmed’s clock wasn’t above the level of complexity that a high school should see.
Besides, if they actually thought it was a bomb they would have evacuated the school.
Yes, it looks like a bomb to me because I don’t understand circuits, thus proving my point. Do you really expect anyone but the engineering teacher to know anything about circuits? Getting mad at the school for not handling the clock well because the engineering teachers should have know after taking more than a quick glance at it that it wasn’t a bomb is silly. I bet if I showed his clock and an IED mock-up to the office workers or English teachers, they would have no idea which was which.
You mean the science teacher, i.e. the one he showed it to, because this really isn’t advanced or specialized tech. I would expect a school to understand the things they teach, yes.
Yea, the science teacher really dropped the ball on that one. HOWEVER, that does not mean anyone else responded any less understandably, even more so considering the science teacher thought it was a bomb.
sapper-in-the-wire where did you deploy to?
Where I went, they made IEDs out of alarm clocks and less.
Get the fuck out of here with your “I’m going suck the muzzie cock” bullshit.
The fuckin little scumbag didn’t build a goddamn thing. He purposely made an alarm clock look like an improvised bomb.
I read his bio, thinking that the sapper in his URL meant he was a combat engineer, but it didn’t say anything about that. It said he’s a history buff. Totally reliable in terms of his knowledge of IEDs.
Actually, the kid didn’t build the clock anyway, he took apart an old 1970s clock (surprised sapper didn’t bring this up in his “extensive knowledge of circuits”), and then put it back together. If you look at modern circuit boards, they are highly precise and accurate. If you look at Ahmed’s, it looks almost hand drawn. That’s because it probably was - like most circuits from the 70s.
